GERALD GRANT, JR.

Gerald Grant, Jr. has built a strong reputation as a financial planner, priding himself in comprehensive planning for individuals and small businesses. His detailed, methodical approach, learned from his days of being an auditor, really allows him to dissect and understand his clients’ needs.

 

Gerald started his career in the financial services industry in 1995, bringing with him over eleven years of banking experience. Gerald holds an Associate of Arts degree from Miami Dade College and both a Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degree from Florida International University.  He also holds FINRA Series 7, 63, 65, 24, and 26 Securities Registrations and is insurance licensed. Gerald has also been awarded the title of Retirement Planning Specialist by Equitable Advisors after receiving a Certificate in Retirement Planning from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Gerald is the author of the book BOLD MOVES to Creating Financial Wealth and The Power of Generational Wealth. Believing education is key to success and financial freedom, Gerald uses these books as tools to teach his clients the important things they need to know about finances.

 

Gerald’s pride for serving his clients and the community afforded him the opportunity to receive various awards.  In 2018, Gerald was the recipient of the Non-Profit Business Innovative Excellence for Outstanding Board Leader for Florida International University by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. He was honored as a distinguished community leader by the Ancient Spanish Monastery Foundation at its Legacy Gala held in April 2013. Gerald was the recipient of the 2012 Darwin Davis Award for Community Service for his extraordinary contributions in public service, community development, community service and volunteerism. He was named Equitable Advisors’ 2011 National Honor Associate, the first African American to win this prestigious award since its institution over seventy years ago. In March 2011, he was inducted to the Florida International University – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Hall of Fame and was inducted, on May 10, 2011, to the Miami Dade College Hall of Fame.

 

Gerald is an active member of the South Florida community and serves on the Foundation Board of Directors for Florida International University (FIU). He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, and the Orange Bowl Committee. He is also a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.-Theta Rho Sigma Chapter. Gerald is a past-President of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), Miami-Dade Chapter, a past- Trustee and past- President of the Florida International University Alumni Association. He is also a past-Board Member of the United Way of Miami-Dade, Everglades Foundation, and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
